Most cops ARE good; unfortunately you usually don't make headline news by doing your job... au contraire...

Agreed. Notice how he changes to a more pleasant tone when the guy says he's videotaping "for my protection". The cop changes to a much friendlier tone of voice.

you guys are so paranoid. Maybe he changed his tone, because when he inquired about the camera, he had just got done clearing a weapon? Approaching someone with a gun isn't the most relaxing of activities for a lot of officers. This dude was just doing his job perfectly fine. Not once did he even hassle the guy from the get go.

You kids

This is the problem with this country. The 2nd amendment to the US constitutions bill of rights says that you have a RIGHT to keep and BEAR arms. Why would you need to talk to a cop when you are doing something that you have a right to do? do cops stop people to make sure they are legally using their right to freedom of speech? do you need some sort of a special permit to remain silent?

This video is from CA, where PC 12031(e) gives a cop the OPTION to check the firearm and verify that it is being carried unloaded and in compliance of the law. The cop OPTED to harass a law abiding citizen, further, that cop obviously supports this unconstitutional law that allows cops to search your property w/o a warrant, even though they arent breaking the law.

Our standards of good cops are a joke. How was this cop good? He violated a constitutional right, and took this persons time which he can never get back or get paid for. We have become so accustomed to seeing cops beat the hell out of people, or shoot them or their dog, or give them a sever ass chewing that when a cop is "just" violating the constitution that he swore to uphold and defend, we think hes doing a good thing.

Your assumptions are a joke. How do you know he wasn't responding to a call, perhaps from a concerned citizen. Guess what, kids don't go walking around residential areas open strapped that often, it concerns some people. How do you know he chose to harrass him, rather than not doing his job by responding to the request of a taxpayer? You see, you're going a long way to build up this delusional story for what appears to be a rather nice human being, simply because he wears a badge.

A call from a concerned citizen that reported what? A hoplophobe's unfounded fears are not justification to use police and tax payer resources to respond to something that is not illegal.

The cop may in fact be a nice human, but that doesnt excuse the fact that he supports and directly violates the constitution. I really havent built any story, and its really not that long. Ill simplify it though - Cop swears to uphold constitution, politician makes unconstitutional law, cop violates citizens right because of unconstitutional law, cop has failed at oath and job. See, every cop in CA by default, at a minimum supports the violation of the constitution, and IMHO should be declared a domestic enemy.

The "just doing his job" argument doesnt really justify the violation of someone either, if they didnt want to violate rights, they could find a new job.

If you were right, and a hoplophobe did call the police to report a legal action taking place, the 911 call should have went more like this:
