Default Online Dating

I'm curious as to how many of you guys have tried online dating and have had either success or failures. My friend recently signed up for a site and says that he has a few dates coming up and seems pretty excited.

She's trying to get me to sign up with the site that she is on but I'm kind of hesitant. I have never had issues with connecting with women but recently I haven't had the time as I opened a new business...at this point online dating seems convenient.

I've done some searches and have read some posts but I'm unsatisfied with my results.

SO, what are your thoughts?

a buddy of mine is / was on eharmony and match.com with some results... he had some dates but nothing has been long term...

depending on what you are looking for, some dates is better than tossing off alone......

A friend of mine tried Chemistry, Match.com with no success (and he's one of those genuine nice guys). He tried eHarmony and he's dating a really nice girl. A little shy for my taste but she's very good to him. I think with eHarmony, you would find more quality girls since it's a) more expensive, b) more geared towards people wanting a serious relationship.

A friend of mine has setup tons of dates off match.com and myspace. His theory is success through numbers. If he hits up every girl he finds attractive, a few are bound to respond and agree to meet up with him.

Then, the first date is always dinner and a movie at his place. Elegent genius if you ask me. There is basically one type of girl who will agree to show up at your place for a first date.. no explanation needed.

Recently he moved in with a girl after knowing her for less than a month.. She is married (separated) to a cop.

eHarmony is probably a better choice.

A friend of mine has another friend now planning to get married to a girl that he met on an online dating service. She's definitely a looker and is VERY intelligent. What do you have to lose? I say go for it.

I've had a few friends who went on eHarmony and they both say it is both expensive, and turned up wildly incompatible matches. If you are going to get your feet wet with this, why not try some of the free sites? OKCupid and Plentyoffish are good ways to try this out without making a big financial commitment.

Like shooting fish in a barrel in my experience, but you can meet some cool, nice, and attractive people doing online dating (not necessarily all three at once though).

I actually met my wife through an online site. We have been together going on 3 years now. The advantage to our situation was that we were apart which led us to getting to know each other better. We hit it off and got married last year.

Another guy I work with is chatting it up with a girl he met online and aperently it is going well for him. He met her on this SITE, check it out you mind find love there too.
