Online Social Networks
Are you guys/gals on any of the social networks out there? If so, can I ask what your demographic is and what you like about the sites? I am just exploring them, and have been on sites like AsianAvenue in the past, but am wondering what really enticed so many people to MySpace and FaceBook. When I go to them, they seem the same as what I saw many years before.
I'm on MySpace because bands often post new songs on their pages, and usually you can find links to leaked content or merch. I've come to realize, however, that MySpace is just one big spank bank.
I'm on Facebook because I originally thought it was a great network for college students, since that's all it was open for. Now, I'm still on Facebook, but I refuse to add anyone as a friend unless they truly are a FRIEND and not someone I saw in line waiting for a keg before I left that party weeks ago...

I've just joined up on facebook a few weeks ago and it has been like a high school reunion. I block friends of friends that try and get on, I'm too lazy/busy to keep up with my close friends let alone people that just wanna look popular!

I've been on Facebook since '05 and re-connected with lots of friends I lost touch with in high school.
Same for me on MySpace, much more successful than spam-filled Classmates.com.
I'm on facebook and myspace. My brother in law invited me to facebook and basically my friends on there are the people i was friends with on friendster. I did find 2 high school friends though. myspace i signed up for and because I hung out with the myspace ceo and people on a snowboarding trip. Then 5 months later I was reconnected with a bunch of friends from freshman year in college. Pretty cool.
