Default Online Travel Booking

Im sitting here trying to plan a birthday trip and it seems that everyone and their brother has a vacation package website...most of them spewing back links to the very same pages. I cannot seem to find much diversity. I've tried all the normal...orbitz, expedia, blah blah blah....

Where do you guys find your good deals?

kayak.com can search many of the major sites at once. Also cheaptickets.com is pretty good, and cheapflights.com if your travel dates are flexible. I would also check individual airline sites that may not show up on the search engines.. southwest.com, airtran.com, jetblue.com

http://www.sidestep.com

http://www.kayak.com

http://www.mobissimo.com

All three compare various sites you may also want to try http://www.airfarewatchdog.com.

Use these as a search tool but also check out individual airlines accounts to cross reference. Sometimes sites like chaptickets charge a $10-$15 fee and you can avoid this by booking directly with the airline.

I've had company travel agents recommend kayak.com when booking personal travel. Honestly though, I saw the same prices for flights and rental cars that I did when I went to every other travel site (travelocity, orbitz, etc.).

Thats because all kayak does is search other sites. Some specific airline sites (southwest, AA, etc), then travel sites like cheaptickets, orbitz, etc.

well, I'd say most sites, including specific courier sites like southwest.com, will have options for discounted hotels to be purchased along side the flight.

I almost hate to say it, but Travelocity has been reliable for me. I have had a ton of problems with the format and some obvious predatory pricing that changes each time I look at it, but dozens of good flights too.

Never heard of Kayak but I'll try them.

I just got tickets on cheaptickets and after I booked I found out they add an $7.98 service fee. This makes them notsocheaptickets.com
