Op-Ed from Speedhunters
To some degree, this could have gone into Car Talk, but I think the sentiment pervades everything that gets discussed online. That's why I'm posting it here.

This article touches on a lot of stuff that's been grabbing my goat here and other places online. What gets me about the S2ki peeps is that 90+% of y'all are awesome. Seriously awesome. Then there's another 10% of you who can't understand why people might not like the cut of your jib. . .
. . . and then worse than that, there's those of you who fling poop at the folks who might deserve it, but you can't quite grasp why you feel compelled to do so.
As the article says,
It's okay to be wrong. Heck, I've changed my mind several times on here, and some big fundamentals of my perception of cars has changed dramatically. That only happened when I dropped the bs, sifted through other people's bs, and looked at some facts.
So, continue your opinions. . . just make sure you have some depth to them, or the poop flinging will continue.

As the article says,
Nobody is entitled to an opinion unless you can back it up with facts, experiences or legitimate and thoughtful debate. You also have to be willing to concede and change said opinion when your opinion has been undoubtedly proven wrong.
So, continue your opinions. . . just make sure you have some depth to them, or the poop flinging will continue.
