Opinions on PDAs
Think hard about what you want to use it for.
I had a combo phone/Palm before (Kyocera's) and decided to go back to two devices (RAZR & Palm TX) for better functionality (bigger screen, longer battery life, latest OS, more memory).
I'm a fan of the Palm OS (now called Garnet?) but if it had to do everything under the sun I'd look again at Windows Mobile devices (e.g. Dell Axim).
I want longer battery life than the typical Win device. I also wanted connection options (WiFi, BlueTooth, IR) and a shirt-pocket profile so that meant the Palm TX to me at the time. The new Treos are sexy but not enough to make me integrate again... yet. If they thin them a little more I might jump on it. I'm not hanging fat-crap on my belt again.

the hp ipaq is pretty good. Wouldnt call it a PDA, more like a Personal computers.
if you are going to be talking, no need for a pda. If you do alot of email checking and need to browse the web on the go, a PDA is good.
A good PDA is the blackberry. Good Quality, looks, and ease of use.

FWIW, the Dell Axim sucks. I have one and the backup battery died. Now with an Ipaq, you just change the backup battery and you're good to go. With the Dell, you have to throw it away and buy a new PDA. They've buried the backup battery deep into the internals and have soldered a wire to it. Dell will not service it, you have to go with an outside company if you want to chance it.

to Dell. I'll never buy another product from them. Stick with the known brands for PDAs, the IPAQ, Blackberry and now Blackjack/Q.

I really didn't like these things too much. But now, I have to use one as I need to check email on the go. I want something sleek, with web capabilities and don't want to carry 2 devices. So i guess the title should have been PDA phones.
Thanks for the info, keep them coming.

I got the treo 750. its a nifty phone and i've gotten used to the window's mobile and like it now. my friend has the tytn, i think it's also called the cingular 8250 or something close to that. He likes it alot and i think webpages view better on it. regardless i think i'm going to get an iphone when they come out, or wait for the gen 2 iphone with 3g. i heard the blackjack doesn't have a touchscreen.
