same principle:

pick one star in the flag and stare at it intently for 20 seconds or so and then quickly look directly at a white wall or surface



you should see a ghost image of a red white and blue flag

blinking rapidly will reproduce the condition to lesser degrees as the image heals itself


as your eye becomes fatigued from a certain color stimulus, it will naturally force you to percieve the oposite color in the spectrum...thats why you see a green dot replace the pink ones







here is the one that gets me all the time (dart your eye around this and see if the LSD in your spinal column does not act up a little LOL):
