our tax dollars at work...
I see nothing wrong with it. It's a medical problem and if we've "reformed" these people then they should be doing anything wrong anyway. If we havn't reformed these people why are they out in society?

I'm not about to suggest we imprison people for things they might do, but I am not foolish enough to think a stint in jail does any more than punish - it does not change behavior. Not everyone who goes to prison re-offends, but I don't know if we have our prison system to thank for that, or just people getting on with life.
I'm not particularly disturbed by this news, because it wasn't accompanied by reports of "scores" of sexual crimes committed with the help of Viagra. And I am not so sure it is the job of Medicaid to run a background check before approving coverage of each prescription. I don't want medical benefits tied to legal records.
This is my whole theory in a box.
If the crime commited is such that a person cannot be reformed then the sentece should be life.
If the criminal can be reformed then we need to do that before we send them back out into society.
Once we send them back out then that should be that. However, I don't want a rapest voting for president.
