I remember when I went paintballing about two or three years ago. Damn that was fun. The only advice I can give you is get good goggles. get the best goggles. They are by far the most important equipment you can have. The last thing you want is to have the best most expensive fully automatic rifle, but can't see sh*t because your goggles are fogged up.

there's tons of guns out there. if you're really serious about it and have tons of cash to spare, get something like an angel made by WDP or a high end, autococker.

For casual play go find a tipman 98 or what ever model replaced it. $200 and from what I can tell a well made gun. No complaints here and have had mine since '99. Also, dont skimp on the googles get what is the most comfotable and has the fog free lenses.

if your budget is like around 300 bucks, you can get a spyder by kingman with all you need for that much.

I used a Spyder Flash as my first gun. It was ok and it didn't cost too much (under $600 for gun, goggles, pods, hopper, and various other equipment).

I'm currently in the market for a new gun and the one's I've been looking at recently are the Vikings. They run anywhere from $800-1600.

Autocockers still rule I had one when I was in the game and I think its the marker that has the most potential. Stock its pretty darn good and it jsut gets better as you upgrade. But the first thing you'll want is a good set of goggles. Fogging in the middle of a game is not cool.

Heres a pic of my cocker before I sold it:
