Parking Lot Offroading

I took the note to the cops. They said that even if the paint on his bumper matched, the guy would claim it wasn't him driving. And since I couldn't prove it was him driving, the case would be dropped. F'd up huh! I filed my claim anyway...
My wife's parked car got hit by some D-bag driving a 911. It got hit so hard that my wife's car got pushed sideways over a curb, breaking the suspension.
D-bag fled the scene, leaving his 911 with the engine running, his wallet, his cellphone. Cops showed up, went to D-bag's 3-4 million dollar house two minutes away from where I live. D-bag's wife answered the door, and when told that her husband's car was found but he was missing, she shrugged.
Cops came back, said sorry but there was no way to prove that D-bag was actually driving the car when it happened.
Tow truck arrived, and tow truck driver proceeds to put thousands of dollars worth of damage to the 911, while the cops looked on and laughed.

Sadly, that's the truth. The system rewards those who shirk responsibility.

^Actually the wife and I had just come home from an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ joint
to find her car with a Porsche up its ass, and the police checking it out. We were enjoying the drive with the top down in the S on a warm summer night.
