Kazumori-san,

If you think it hurts Japan, it also hurts the Japanese-Americans here.

But, Japan today produces almost everything you can think of and everyone in the world owns something that is made in Japan. So, when it comes to anti-Japan maybe it will be a good idea to dump all your Japanese goods first.

If you rent DVDs and watch all the behind the scenes and deleted scenes you may get the idea of what is wrong here.

This should have been a 2 hr movie period. Every other flick I see on DVD they go on and on about how important it is to keep the story going. This big monster is so slow you could probably watch another movie at the same time.

They put a bunch of work into the all too short action sequences, but they were a bit cheesy at best. Esp considering this was an important historic event in which alot of people died, I did not get the feeling I thought I should from this movie.

This was nothing more than a puny attempt to get Ben Affleck on screen in a love story, let the history be damned.

It was so predictable that I almost laughed when the Affleck character resurfaces. You had to see that coming.

I judge movies like this by the number of times I looked at my watch to see how long till the end. this was a 10+

I hope Tomb Raider is better...Has to be Better...A.J. as L.C.

KazuMori,
I don't think this movie will inflame anti-Japanese sentiment. The execution of 3 American fliers from the Doolittle Raid after surrender to the Japanese (historically accurate, unlike some of the movie)was cut from the picture to avoid offending Japanese audiences. I think most Americans have a favorable view of Japan and Japanese, and I don't think this poor movie will change that attitude.

Kazumori, I don't think it will inflame anti-Japanese sentiment, except perhaps in some people who already hold a prejudice to begin with.
The vast majority of Americans are well educated to what happened from our history classes.
Just my opinion.
