I hear only 1% of GT-R's were affected by the breakdowns... and something 19-20 cars a year or so.

I'm skeptical by nature, so if you say something controversial on a forum without backing it up with facts, I sometimes call you on it. Some people get really irrational when asked to, you know, *prove* what they're saying is true. That's what happened here -- I posted a grand total of two lines:

About him attacking GT-R skeptics, claiming to be "bringing the reality" proving that the GT-R transmission failures were due to abuse, and denying the easily verifiable fact that magazine tests of the GT-R have returned surprisingly variable quarter mile trap speeds:

Then how about you bring that reality and some meaningful insight instead of just passive aggressively baiting anyone who dare question the mighty GT-R?
In response to a comment about Nissan not handling the forum backlash against the GT-R transmission failures well:

An amusing comment given that your posts on this thread have done nothing but make Nissan and you personally look bad.
...and that's all it took to send him off the deep end, when he could have just posted data and convinced me and others instead.

And yeah, he was calling GT-R owners jackasses; he just called me mentally challenged.

^ haha

I was on that thread too at cc.com. Very entertaining. Guy is a douche.

So who is the internet tough guy that had to 'put you in check' at topeka?

The comment about pakinson's and testicles was kind of funny though.

Maybe this will bring CC.com back to it's hey day?!!? It used to be THE place for smack and tech.

By the way, I don't think you are a jackass....thread title was in jest.

i too wish to know what happened at Topeka. that poster made it sound like a bit out of Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories.

'PedalFaster is a habitual linestepper! once in a while I had to 'check' him...I kicked the shit out of that nigger!"

hahah!

yeah, must of been real 'serious' to have to put him in check! I'm on more then one forum with PedalFaster and have disagreed with him on a few things, but i wouldn't say he's a jackass or even all that controversial. I would like the info on the situation myself. INTERNET DRAMAS IS SOOOO AWESOME!

ahahah, from the jalopnik post!!
I haven't read the whole thing... but "PedalFaster" is known dipshit/Internet tough guy Stephen Hui, who ran his mouth to me so much on the Boxster forums three years ago that I had to put him in check, personally and physically, at Topeka.

I don't blame Chip for wanting to smack that guy in the face. The problem is that in person he's smaller than Fiona ****** Apple so there's no point to doing so.

@Jack Baruth: I'm glad to see you still remember me; I apparently made quite an impression. :-)

Anyway, as far as I can remember, we've never actually met in person. That means that you either imagined "physically putting me in check", or you didn't make as devastating an impression as you thought you did. Reply

@stephenhui: Let me jog your memory: "Please, I just want to drive, I don't want to talk to you, please, please, please, please." Topeka 2007. Thanks for playing, you punk bitch. Reply

@Jack Baruth: Ah, now I remember -- you were pestering me in grid immediately before I was supposed to run, and I was trying my best to politely ignore you and focus on driving. If you remember that as me begging you to spare my life, and that makes you happy, then I'm glad to have brightened your day. Reply

@stephenhui: I think you have the highest Internet-to-real-life toughness factor I've ever seen. But don't worry, I'll give you another chance to tell me off in person, and this time I'll bring a camera. Reply

@Jo Borras: That race was a disaster for me. But I was still had a faster time than Jack Baruth. :-) Reply

@Jack Baruth: Normally I think it's a bit weird when other guys follow me around with cameras, but since you've taken such a liking to me, I'll make an exception in your case. Reply

I have seen some people claim to have 'put someone in check', but that usually at least includes yelling at them and getting them to back down or admit they were wrong. Bugging them in the pits until it's time to run and then getting beat is not what I would call 'putting someone in check'. that just sounds like being annoying and bad at driving!

LMAO@ Jack Baruth. The same that guy that had excuse after excuse for not beating a kid in a M3 at the CTS-V challenge. Just accept the loss and move on. Worst of all, he showed up in a full race suit while everyone came in street clothes, LOL. Talk about douche...
