Default Pending Draft Legislation Targeted for Spring 2005

Read it here:

Just a snippet:

There is pending legislation in the House and Senate (twin bills: S 89 and HR 163) which will time the program's initiation so the draft can begin at early as Spring 2005 -- just after the 2004 presidential election. The administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the public's attention is on the elections, so our action on this is needed immediately.

Please send this on to all the friends, parents, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and cousins that you know. Let your children know too -- it's their future, and they can be a powerful voice for change!

Please also contact your representatives to ask them why they aren't telling their constituents about these bills -- and contact newspapers and other media outlets to ask them why they're not covering this important story.

There are lot's of bills we don't know about. I am all for the draft, always have been no matter WHO is President. Signed up for Selective Service on my 18th Bday.

Taxes are mandatory as well, but not everyone pays those.

It's not meant to pass into law, this bill is to make rich and elite aware of the whole situation.

The US army is made up of mostly low income section since it's not mandatory service. Once the rich people realize that their children will have to sacrifice their lives then they will think TWICE and THRICE before starting wars without much thought. It's always different if you are personally involved in a war.

How easily would Bush and his generals talk about the war and deploying thousands of soldiers into Iraq if their sons and daughers were there in the front lines????

if i were to be in the draft. i wouldn't want to be in a foxhole next to someone who doesn't want to be in the army. an army of volunteer is 100x better than an army of draftees...

this is a one or two/few congressman deal. a draft won't pass. that site has a heavy liberal agenda.

it's not like the military is having a hard time finding people. besides, all they have to do when they hit a squeeze is to let the multitudes of HS dropouts in that want to but can't due to the diploma/GED requirement.
