Perforated Leather
I think that perforations, in some uses, do have some functional advantage. On the seat cushion surfaces, for example, they provide more breathability to the leather, which will make it more comfortable in hot weather. On the steering wheel, they improve grip slightly as well.
On things like the console cover or door panels, however, preforations are purely decorative and have no funtional benefit whatsoever.
