Obviously we'd like both, but of the two which do you prefer in a sports/sporty car?

Performance...

Looks are important, though - I'd much rather drive an S2000 than a 300+ HP Miata with suspension mods.

Interesting Lee. You say performance, yet in your comparison you choose looks.

Just saying I'd rather have a car with both performance and looks than a car with a lot of performance qualities and a lousy appearance

Easy, Looks... you could always mod the car to make it perform better, but you can't really change the basic shape and design of the car, which is most important.

Obviously both. but I have to say it depends on the car. If I really like the looks, but it's not really all that fast (stock 1960 Corvette or 1957 Thunderbird) I would still take it.
