Default Pet euthenization

What if I were broke and couldn't afford the $314 to spread my dogs ashes across Napa Valley with all the other animals? Would I just watch my dog suffer and die?

RIP Noelle 9.26.94-7.5.09

RIP Noelle. The vet can arrange cremation and a commemorative rock with a plaque for the ashes that you can put in your garden.

Thanks. That would have been nice, but that option was $534

Edit: Well the ashes come in a cedar box with an engraved box with the name on it and stuff. But still..!

Only $60 here. We have two in a garden with Milo's and PJ's ashes.

My dad put a .22 through the head of my uncles cat cause it had cancer and they couldn't afford to euthanize it.

Our dog past away a couple years ago....was $435 for the cremation and the ashes were put in a $80 wood box ,with a statue of his breed on top.

Burials were nearly $1000 ,so we went for the cremation.

Espelir, I'm sorry to hear that you've had to do that. It's tough to do. Two weeks age I had to take our last dog from the days when my wife was showing them to be put down. He was very close to the same age as yours. He was less than 2 months shy of his 16th birthday. For now his ashes are resting on the mantle over our fireplace.

I won't tell you the next few days or weeks won't be difficult. It's a big adjustment losing a member of the family like that. I hope that when something reminds you of Noelle unexpectedly that it can make you smile and bring back good memories.

RIP Noelle, your pain is over.

Sorry you lost your little buddy. When I had to have my dog put down a few years ago it was only around $60 to have her euthanized, cremated, and her ashes spread in a pet cemetery in town. It's crazy your cost was so much higher.

Thanks man. This actually made me well up earlier reading it .

As far as cost goes, I think it was also 'cause it was a Sunday, so we had to take her to the emergency vet. I think if we would have taken her to the her primary vet where they know her really well, it would have been a little different.
