Photo printer
i'm shopping photo printers, looking for best quality, reliable heads, ink usage...etc.
I also want to learn more about those in wider format (13" X 19")
budget is under 500 US

I've got the Epson 785EPX which is the same as the 1280 (only narrower). I've been quite happy with the prints, although if your doing digital photos, you can't beat the price of Sam's or Costco. (oops, just noticed your in B.C., not sure if the imperialist US megla-marts have invaded north of the border).
Anyway, find a local business that has a Fuji Frontier system....wait, I just did that for you

London Drugs should be able to take any digital media you have and print chemical emulsion prints for WAY cheaper than inkjets.
Also, if you use Photoshop, the link above has info about profiling a specific printer so that the colors are spot on.

Ive always been impressed with epson 1200 series printers.
I have used a 1270 to print hundreds of photos and it has always performed flawlessly.
If you don't need the capacity to A3 get one of the A4 epson printers.
