Default photo viewer

i have vista and i am unable to view my photos. everytime i click on a picture to view it in large size. it says the following.

"error loading c:\programs files\windows photo gallery\photo viewer
the specified module could not be found."

i didnt even touvh anything on my computer and then all of a sudden one day i go to look at my photos, it pops up with this warning.

does anyone know if i can re-dl it on windows site or what i need to be looking for.

you could try using a different photo program.

on my laptop with vista, I haven't changed the primary program, and it opens with "windows photo gallery"

I just close the programs it suggests. And go right through the "removable drive" on the Computer folder from desktop.

yea the windows photo gallery is missing. i tried to go into my hard drive to look for it and it is missing for some reason?

is there a way i can get this program to install it on my comp again?

no i didnt opt for the expensive comp so it didnt come with a recovery disk

if not is there someway i can dl vista all over again? other than me having to buy the whole damn program? cause i dont want to pay for vista,Vista blows balls. always crashing. its like it crashes 2 out of 6 times i turn the damn thing off. pos.

Ah ha! I have found your problem, you have Vista. That'll be $500 for the diagnosis.

I have Vista on a desktop and laptop and it sucks compared to XP (and that ain't saying much).

Can you save the photos to another location and/or open them w/ a different program like PhotoShop or another photo viewer? That may work.

My laptop didn't come with recovery discs, but I found out that you can burn them from your laptop. I have a Sony Vaio, I believe the recovery disk file was somewhere in my Control Panel. I'm not very tech savy, so don't flame me for tryin to help
