"Physically Impossible"
I just overheard one side of a telephone conversation in which the conversant described something as "physically impossible", emphasis on "physically".
Is something that is "physically" impossible more impossible than something that is merely impossible without being "physically" so?
I always thought that impossibility was an absolute: either something is impossible or else it isn't.

I think the term "physically impossible" usually describes something that the human body cannot do.
i.e.-- lifting a 2-ton boulder. that's physically impossible for a human body, but not for a crane.
