ATVs are alot of fun to ride but I would much rather ride a dirtbike.

ATV's are for lemmings.......we call them "Red Neck Bikes" down here. No real skill is needed. Kind of like a dirt bike that needs training wheels.

ATVs are lots of fun - as far as dirtbikes being better, and atvs being poser; last time i went riding a very very experienced dirt bike rider (rode motorcross in teens) came with us, it was VERY strenuous for him to keep up on trails, all of the rutted out sandhills he could not go up ( would catch the metal where you rest your feet).

ATVs are a hoot - if you're on sand/dirt, they're really fun when you're sliding/drifting (something not so fun on a dirtbike, in my experience). That said, I'd take a dirtbike any day - more fun overall (and they are faster, in general!).

Been there done that - not in snow, but it is fun on sand dunes or through mud
