I was going through some of my Photpoint albums and I ran across these two shots. This is the SEVENTH Porsche 911 ever MADE! It was in need of some work, but it was for sale, but I don't recall how much they were asking.

Thought you all might like this little slice of automotive history...

It certainly need a little TLC doesn't it?

To diverge.. it's no wonder you guys in the US want to lose your number plates ... they are huge great things.

It looks like the Minnesota winters (rust) had taken their toll on this baby. No, I don't believe factory air was available when this car was produced. There were several aftermarket suppliers, however. Note that this is an old piston compressor rather than a modern rotary one. I think these cars are largely responsible for the extensive corrosion warranties we see today.

if it really was car #7 it could still be a 901...porsche was sued by peugeot for infringement on cars with three digit #'s with a "0" in the middle; porsche lost and the 901 became the 911....

Type 901 was only the show car. It was changed to 911 before production began.
