You know, there has never been a single dollar or euro spent in space yet. All that money is spent right here on the ground, pumped back into local economies. Someday that might change, but not really soon.
gee since u love spending money on to help human suffering. maybe u should move to a communist country where its all about the people than bunch of geezer trying to find a way to send scrap metal into outer space

^ You would never know unless we actually did spend it, and oh yeah, have some class.

Assinie Article. If we gave our money to other countries we wouldn't be rich we'd be ordinary actually they would just piss it away. The argument is like saying if we paid someone a salary to do nothing just stay out of poverty that person wouldn't actually get any better we would just get poorer. A person or country has to lift themselves up to level the field not look for handouts. As for your 265 experts I'm sure if we looked around 1/2 of those experts aren't experts and we could find twice as many experts to take a different point of view. These guy actually think putting 100's of thousands of low income military solders out of a job an giving that money to poor nations is going to inprove the world. HOW ABOUT THE PEOPLE YOU JUST PUT OUT OF WORK! IT's ying-yang humans are raising the bar everyday around the world some are just raising it faster than others. Have faith that those people you think aren't making it will make it and find a way to improve themselves. Not to say we shouldn't help ina disaster, in this case several Billion dollars of aid is on it's way and yes it's going to be enough the Logistics are probably going to get messed up some people won't recieve a dime while others that don't need it will make money. WE can't exactly prevent all coruption. To be short sighted about the dangers and knowledge gained by going in to space is well ignorant.
Oh yeah well if that article is right andd we do nothing then all those millions and millions of people will die. Which would be terrible but then we won't have to worry about it anymore? I don't think so, we will hear about millions more that will die next decade and the next. No matter what we do as a country it's up to the people to find a way to survive. To band together to beat down their oppresive goverment, to come up with a better plan for survival. Or we can do what we did in Iraq, we can liberate them from their oppresive and careless goverments and make them a state. Hum some how I don't think you'd go for that, but if we really did take over these nations and treated them like we treat our own people. Give them food, shelter, schooling, etc... We would now be having a lecture on how the US imposes itself on others. Middle ground give what we think is reasonable and hope those we are helping find a way out of their own perpetul hell.
