Default Pillow Recommendation

OK, I value the opinion of many of the members on this board so here's the question.

What's a good pillow to get? What do you use? I've spent over a few hundred bucks on different pillows and after a month, they all suck. They turn into mush with no support at all. I almost always wake up with a stiff neck.

I've tried the memory foam, latex, cotton varieties found in Bed Bath Beyond.

Any ideas? I'm desperate for a decent night's sleep.

Cool, I'm glad you started this. I've had the same problem.

The memory foam is heavy and hot, plus it disappears into nothing by morning.

About year ago I read about some new kind of foam pillows that never got hot because they dissapated the heat, but I haven't been able to find them.

I've found this: http://www.smarthome.com/3203.html
but it's a layer you add to your pillow so it could bunch up or move around. Is it just a big gel pack?

This is what I use, and I really like it. I've been using these for almost a year now.

I bought mine at Mattress Firm and each was about $100 if I remember.

Two words:

Fea...ther

I alternate between feather and cotton-stuffed pillows throughout the night. No complaints here.

well...i've never really tried those silicone ones but i've been a big fan of all natural pillows, anything thats sized D+ is usually pretty comfy to sleep on. make sure u have a fan on tho they can get a lil sweaty

seriously, wtf? $100 on a pillow? I mean, if it was down, then yeah, maybe. Maybe. But anyone trying to sell you a pillow that will cure all your sleeping problems is selling you a line.

Just go to a discount store like Target or Bed Bath & Beyond, and feel the pillows. A $10 pillow will last a few years without falling apart, and at most, you just roll over in the middle of the night. For ten bucks a pop, you could buy one of each variety, and get a really good idea of what kind you like. You could even rotate them during the night.

I'm allergic to down, but they're the best, hands down. No foam ever invented will ever trump down. Anyone who says otherwise is selling cheap-ass foam shit for far too much.

I've heard that buckwheat is meant to be good.

Personally I just use some thing foam one and have a feather one on top.
