Default Pink Eye---I need a remedy

This is the first time I've had it. One of my eyes is really...really RED .

Is there anything over the counter I can take or does it just go away by itself.

tks.

If you truly have pinkeye - properly known as conjunctivitis - you need an antibiotic ointment or eyedrops; it's a bacterial infection of the conjunctiva, the lining of the eyelid. Go to a doctor. Conjunctivitis is extremely contageous; I got it from my kids a couple of times when they were quite young. I get a headache just thinking about it.

I'm with magician--go see a doctor! And be careful! You can give it to someone by just looking them in the eye! Oh, no, wait. That's the evil eye.

Pink eye. Knock on wood, I've never had it.

Yeah, what Magician said. Also, wash your hands every time you even think you touched your eyes.

Oh--I forgot to mention that you shouldn't share any of your cosmetics!

DO NOT TOUCH YOUR EYE. WASH YOUR HANDS ALL THE TIME. IT IS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS! IT CAN EASILY SPREAD TO YOUR OTHER EYE... AND OTHER PEOPLES' EYES.

sorry for the yelling, but I really wanted to get this across. I've had it and it is n-a-s-t-y. definitely go to the doctor and get the eye drops. it should go away in a day or two after treatment.

strange.... I was always told that conjunctivitis usually resolves itself within a day... kinda correlating with the fact that the eye is the 2nd fastest healing part of the body.

but then again.. maybe that's cuz I've always had some type of eye drop stuff at home.
