I hope you find your friend. I guess I will never understand why people would do this kind of thing. IMO it's far too dangerous and for what? Just to say I did it? Not worth it IMO.

I'd think that if someone had actually disappeared, there would be a news story about it. Link to news story for additional information?

not to be rude again but how do you supposed we contact someone who is at base camp?
pretty much everyone at base camp know one another and if one is missing, those people will be the first to know. The sherpas have already been dispatched if someone went missing. They won't be hearing from someone from any sort of internet forum.
I would try to contact the local government.

Perhaps you know someone that saw him recently and since has come back home?

I take your points, but I'm sure if you had a missing friend you would be doing everything you could to make people aware of what had happened.

The family are dealing with local authorities, as friends we're just trying to put the word out as much as possible in the hope that people will help rather than tell us not to bother!

If you can't help, then I'm sorry for wasting your time, but if one person on here can, then it's been worth starting this topic. I'm willing to waste some people's time in the hope of getting some information.

Geez guys, it's a needle in a haystack type situation, but you never know. Stop grilling him about why he's doing it. It's a buddy gone missing, I'm sure they are doing way more than posting on s2ki off topic. Good luck.
