I'm going into 3rd gear ... soon ... please help ...

Yep....once you have the accelerator down then let off the accelerator, then push in the clutch, and then move the shifter forward and to the right into 3rd.

isn't there some trick about heel-toe shifting that adds in at least a few more (like 4) steps?
