My male Maine Coon had suffered some really bad matting two years ago and we had to shave him from the neck down. The only thing left totally furry was his head, mane and tail. He looked like a mini-Lion so I called him Mufasa for about six months. It was a riot because when he was walking, you could see his belly pouch just like a grown male lion walking the plains of Africa. Only then did I realize just how similar these cats are to each other.
