A lot of fur will come off during a good brushing, as far as leaving fur in the car or in the house, it is not bad at all. A few cottonballs during shedding season will be on the carpet if you let him roam the house. No fur in the S2k, he rides in it almost everyday when I take him to his friends house before work.
I've been trying to find a hairy dog that isn't an escape artist (Husky) or needs a fenced in yard (Husky, Malamute).
Collies are nice too, but they herd, and although the baby wouldn't care, the cat would not be amused.
Hmm, gotta see how much a nice Keeshond puppy would cost

When our kids were young we had a rough collie. If the kids were fighting she would squeeze between them and push them apart.
That's a nice dog! I did some reading since I looked at your pic earlier, and they seem like a nice dog to have around babies and cats.
