the e-mail I got was titled "there are no ugly women".. I tend to disagree as there are plainly ugly women and men out there and these girls are not necessarily homely to begin with but this picture is a good demonstration of the power of makeup and a nice dress.

oh yeah, for sure. there are many powers at play in that photo.

The same with undeniably beautiful people, at 7am when they get out of bed with no makeup or anything, I am sure they look as ragtag as anybody else

 

I definitely think that's a touched up photograph and they have more than makeup. That's more like a complete makeover, including teeth whitening, skin tanning, corsets, etc, etc...

I also agree that the initial pictures were way more slovenly (great word!) than they needed to be.

It'd be more interesting to compare the person dressed up normally and then dressed up by professionals to see how big THAT difference is.

 

when you really look close, half the girls look like they were either cut up for plastic surgery, or there was major photoshopping going on (most likely).

The first girl's nose is completely different (at least from the angle viewed). Beth Lay now has completely new teeth, not just whitened. (again, based on angle, no more buck tooth).

Beyond that, the tanning, teeth whitening, etc...
Just harkens back to the video of how they make a model look "proper" for a bulletin board ad. where they stretch her, reshape her , etc in PS.

 

I think they were all on that FOX competition make-over beauty pagent show......so they had extensive surgeries and lipo, as well as dental work.
