Powerlock vs. Clifford Inteliguard 8000
Does anybody know the difference? I know that the clifford system comes with a immobilizer and the kill switch, isn't that what the powerlock does???
This is a bit off topic but I saw this one guy who had an alarm where you would wave some type of a object (eg emblem, keychain, something like that) which I guess contained some chip in front of a certain area (dash) of your car and THEN you'd be able to turn on your car. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Yes, I was the one at Larry Hopkins with the Powerlock installed on the underside of my dash, with the electronic key. It is a covert installation and in my opinion is the best way to completely prevent someone from hotwiring your car.
If you have specific questions about it, please PM me about since I'm not allowed to really unintentionally "advertise" it on here ... and I'm not affiliated with the company or anything, but I've done a hell of a lot of research on alarm systems/security.
You shouldn't compare powerlock with the Clifford alarm system. They are different. Powerlock does not emit any kind of noise/sound ... it only prevents the car from being started and DRIVEN away.
Layer your security, that is the best thing. Powerlock and Clifford system (or some other high-end alarm system) would be unbeatable when used together (besides having a tow truck tow it away ... you can't really help that). Trust me on this one. If you have questions, PM me.
