If you can't find the family, some historical society will want them. My local library had a big exhibition of old pics last year, and it was very interesting.

I have had this as an issue with many rental houses. There will be a lifetimes of memories in the basements that the family leaves behind.

I think most of the time people take what they want and leave what they don't so I doubt anyone in the family wants that stuff, but definately worth a shot at finding them.

I agree with everyone else and donate them somewhere. My parents have pictures on "tins" they are so old.... i guess that is what they printed them on way way back?
