Mine would be...

#1. Staying alive
#2. Family & Friends
#3. Having a good time (without this, #1 wouldn't be as important)
#4. Money (primarily so #1 and #3 can continue)

I don't care about a career, because I only care about the root benefit - i.e. I only work to generate money. If I could have the money without the career, that'd be optimal.

The other things, like cars, I wouldn't personally consider priorities. It's more of a bonus - a very fun bonus, but not a necessity of life. If any of my listed priorities are threatened, the car will be gone in a flash.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't specifically try to be with people whose priorities are aligned with mine. I like to party...drink, smoke weed, screw around 'til morning...and my girlfriend of 5 years doesn't, but we've gotten along just fine. If I wanted to find someone whose priorities and feelings are completely in line with mine, I could search my entire life in vain.

The simple answer:

Be a good person.

Have fun.
The devil is in the details of how to accomplish those two things. I won't get into the whole complex of the issue, but the first thing has to do with taking care of family, being there for friends, trying to improve the world, honesty and integrity, love, and about a billion other things... The second is about love and family and friends again, and S2000s, chocolate, books, sunsets, being healthy, and another billion other things... Career is important only in how it can support the two list items.

Boy what a deep thread ZGIRL! Clock ticking or something?

Seriously though:

I think it is good if you connect with someone personality wise, and its good to have similar interests. Most importantly your mate & you should be best friends and share similar interests (food, music, movies, etc..). However, I don't think its necessary to have the SAME priorities, but to respect each others. If you can relate to just one priority with another then focus on that and build from there. You know if you have getting married as a priority & your mate would rather avoid the topic (or hang with friends, etc...) its probably a good idea to cut your loses and not waste each others time. But generally, you are on the right path!

WHEW! Ok, no more Mr. Serious.... My head hurts!
