i'm watching the 2003 world series poker tournament on espn right now, and god damn this is probably one of the most exciting things i've seen in my life. my heart is literally gushing out adrenaline right now. within the past 40 mins, this "amateur" rookie player has just wiped out 2 big shot pro poker players, one of them being jonny chan... okay, gotta go back to the action...

 

Jonny Chan really exists.... I thought he was just a fictional name in the movie 'Rounders' (Matt Damon) - shows what I know?!

I thought this thread was about people who poke things for a living.

 

Rounders made it interesting, I love that movie... I've seen real poker on TV, and it's boring to watch for me, but it's a good game to play.

 

Rounders is a good movie, but not a good way to base your playing from.

Yeah, I liked that movie too. I've been watching the world series of poker replays all week. I'd be nervous as shit playing against professional players. Pretty exciting stuff!

u have to remember, that the highlights are taken over a whole day of play, so condense 10 hours or so into an hour bit and with all teh profiles and stuff, tehre really isnt much there.
to get ur texas no limit hold em fix, just download some of teh online poker sites and play for real or play money, it is worth a few hours of killing time. plus u might learn a thing or two.
