PS3 60GB vs 80GB?
60gb, many would argue, is better.
The original 20gb and 60gb both had hardware to run previous Playstation games. The 80gb got rid of that and now its all done with software. Unfortunately, it doesnt work on all the older games. . .

I agree with CobraTi. The only other advantage the 80 GB has other than hard drive space is it comes with Motorstorm, which is a pretty cool game. My 60 GB is plenty big so I doubt I would pay extra for just a small increase in space.
considering the cost difference between a 60 and 80 gig drive is only a few bucks, the $100 extra (OK $50 if you like the game) isn't much of a value proposition ESPECIALLY since the 80G version lacks the Emotion Engine (PS2 processor) the 60G has.
The 80G does EE synthesis in software but still has the PS2's Graphics Synthesizer (aka GS...the full system is noted as EE+GS).
The 40G version coming out has neither the EE nor the GS. NO PS2 games can be played on it.
You may as well get the 60G version and buy a new drive if you want something bigger. I put a 120G drive in mine which is about $100. The 60G drive can be sold on ebay for probably $50. This does NOT void the warranty.
Honestly the 60G version is the only one worth considering. Maybe the 20G version if you can find one...they have the EE+GS.
