Default Psst Texas Peeps

I am going to be in San Antionio in July.

I don't know Texas at all. How far is it from Austin or Houston?

If only there were a thing that would graphically describe a
geographic region. It would display cities, roads, bodies
of water, mountains and other geographic features. I'd make
it out of paper and fold it up so it was easy to carry or store.
I'd also add as scale so one could compute the distance
between to points on this graphic geographic description.

I'd also digitize this information so people could view it online
with a browser. I'd add functionality so one could enter to
cities and this system would tell me not only distance to
between the two cities, but how do get from one to the other.

Oh well, one may dream...

San Antonio is about 3 hour drive from Houston and about 1.5 hour drive from Austin.

You should definitely check out the Houston street scene when you get here, and definitely check out the Austin hill country roads.

Riverwalk, Alamo, Six Flags, Sea World. Touristy stuff. Dunno much else about the city, really. Austin would be your best bet.
