Pulled Over & Discriminated

I'm 18 and barely really able to afford anything since I've been having to pay for school fees. I could probably afford an R6 if I really set my mind to it.

My friend bought his own C5 when he was 15 or 16 I believe with his OWN money (web hosting I believe). His dad had some hookup at the DMV so he got a real license without having to do a test or any of those procedures.
I couldn't even have a car till I was 17 because that's when I got my license, I really lagged.
You join the PBA by paying dues. They want your money. You do not have to know people. IMO, in the big city it will not get you out of a big ticket. It may tell the cop that's pulling you over that you're not a bad guy and he might go easy on a little ticket or not make it worse for you by giving you multiple tickets. It's similar to the little shield people place on the back of their cars to let the cops know they donated money to one of their organizations. In Chicago we have the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) or something similar. It lets the cops know you're not a wise ass or someone who's hostile to them. It is not a "get out of jail free card."
I suppose it could be red, or badge like, or whatever. It's the logo of the police organization for your area. I'm not saying it's a bad idea or it's not worth joining. I'm saying it's not the end-all.
For the young guys, I would point out that attitude is very important. When a cop is pulling you over, he does not wish to be threatened nor humiliated. He's doing his job. If push come to shove, he wins: you get a ticket. I'm a lawyer and always show great respect when I'm stopped. God, I do not want to go to court to prove a point and waste valuable time. I can't say I've ever been stopped without a reason. But, I've been respectful when stopped and many times, even though I might have deserved a ticket, didn't get one.
In the scheme of things, when I need the police to protect me, my family, my home, etc., I want you guys around. If this means you're around when I speed or otherwise f*** up, so be it. We must keep this in perspective.
Thank you to those that "Serve & Protect."

I'm a 44 year old whiteman and I get the cop stare all the time. It's like they are making a mental note. "Not today but the day will come and soon. I just know he drives way too fast. Easy money"!
It's not our fault the car looks fast just standing still!
