well i for one find kill stories entertaining.. just hope you aren't racing in crowded traffic or doing anything stupid that can get you or others killed. i don't see anything wrong w/ the occasional street race but just way the risk and traffic conditions when doing so. most of the older crowd that didn't get the car for the performance.. are similar to the hot rodding cruisers that are happy driving around at 30mph all day.. and just don't get why us youngins have a need for speed.

btw, for the un-hip (ie:red-heads )j/k Punked: To display dominance over another, in such as way as to cause shame to the domnianted.

Finally, a definition for 'punking' ... thanks, punk!

Huyto, I won't speak for anyone but myself, but I will say that 99% of owners here have found themselves in some kind of combat on the streets. I can't count the times for myself. The key is to do it where you as safe as possible, where you endager hopefully only yourself. I try and practice this philosophy as much as possible, but I'll be the first to admit I have been known to rumble a little, for as long as I have been able to drive...which is 18 years now.

Anyway, keep it safe and don't let the sanctimonious bunch get you down. They do the same damn things...well, maybe not the SAME, but there is not a 100% innocent street warrior here...at least occasionally. If there is, I would be amazed, impressed, and I also think I would be being lied to cuz I don't think that exists here. Could be wrong, it's happened before...

Keep it safe...run the car at a track. That's the safest bet of all...no morons (hopefully not anyway) to get in your way and you can learn your car and it's capabilities there much more safely. Once you do this, you MAY find that your street warrior style is lessened somewhat...I won't say if that is what happened to me or not on the grounds that I may incriminate myself...

Play safe...

I guess I'm one of the older crowd insomniak referred to; however, today a "ricer" Civic passed me on the highway with the typical coffee-can tailpipe proudly displayed. I kicked it and followed him awhile, but then I shut it down when I realized we were doing 94 mph. He probably is on some forum tonight talking about how he "punked a stook."

Gregstevens does seem to be a level headed guy. At least he's pretty honest with his views, thanks for advice. They all do it, they know who they are. No one can resist 9000rpms, and a car that handles like a dream. Hopefully soon I can get my stook on a track, any information on where I can find one by San Jose, CA?

Hey Insomniak, no offence taken but do be careful in stereotyping board members based on age. As a 46 year old Stook owner I can assure you the reason I bought this thing was not for boulevard cruising but for dead set balls out driving -on the street and on the track. When it comes to street driving, however, I do not get my kicks trying to outaccelerate people in a straight line.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you want to get your kicks that way then buy a motorcycle. Huyto, I'd like to see the number of times you've been 'punked' by a bike -if you want to go around punking people get serious about it, get the right machinery, a motorcycle for heavens sake not a piddly little four wheeler (I'm talking about ANY four wheeler here) - then we might respect you because it takes a lot more balls (and skill) going fast on a bike compared with any skateboard (sorry car).

As I say, I drive the Stook balls out, but around corners, not on the freeway. You know the great thing is that there is a lot less traffic on the curvy roads, it takes a lot more skill and it is a lot more fun. You want to know something else, for the majority (not all - I think the exceptions know who they are)of board members here who post about exhaust hotups, hot wheel tyre combinations, body kits and x-braces etc, I think you are misleading yourself in believing you are making your stook any faster (I could have you used a few less polite words here, and if you think I'm now sterotyping then you're probably right but I'm doing it to make a point). If you want to experience the raison d'

The debate rages on I guess. The next thing on my list was a bike, but I don't think I'd do anything crazy in that, its dangerous enough. And I don't race people to make myself feel like the shit, I do it because its fun and I like the rush. With the boxster, its special because for 10-15 grand less, I got the same or better performance out of my car and I enjoy that novelty. I like the twisties too, but I just can't go out into the mountains anytime I want, thats only reserved for weekends and when I have time. In meantine, in every day driving, am I supposed to conform to the laws that the government set and be the good citizen. How can they say 65mph is the optimum speed limit for safety when the German autobahn reaches 200-300km and they have less accidents than we do. Sometimes its fun to use the what I paid for, thats not a crime, unless I get caught. I don't rob, I don't steal, I didn't kill anybody but some of you out there are acting like I did because I'm driving my car the way Honda built it to be driven? C'mon, everybody does it. It just seems some us lose the novelty and rush of it when we get older and more mature. I don't blame you for that, or hold it against you, but some of you've had joy of enjoying nice cars for years to get over it. I on the other hand had had my stook for three weeks, and f*ck me if I still don't get a kick out of driving it hard.
