Default Puzzle for you guys...

This is a famous problem that has perplexed people for years. In the second triangle, where does the extra square come from?

think of the lighter blue as 1 2x2 square and 1 1x3 rectangle, and the darker blue as 1 1x3 + 1 1x5 rectangles.

3+3=6 and 5=5, thus, an empty space is created.

i'm not giving it away but it has to do with the slope of the light blue triangle vs the turquoise triangle

EDIT: ok i gave it away

The slope of the dark blue hypothenuse is 2/5 and the slope of the light blue is 3/8. The two triangles aren't similiar so the entire polygon isn't actually a triangle.
