you have to define the use of "or", in your situation, more.

if you are contrasting multiple words like:

Do you choose blue or red or yellow or green or mauve?

you could list them out just like that or you could do it this way:

Do you choose blue, red, yellow, green, or mauve? which, to me, is more correct

so the answer to multiple uses of or could be commas but if someone uses "or" frequently to contrast two items then "or" is required
