Default Question about Transferring an Auto Loan

Hello All,

When I bought my S2K last spring I was just getting ready to graduate from college so I was not working full time yet. Because of this the loan had to go into my grandfathers name, even though I have been making the payments for a year. I would now like to get the loan into my name and was wondering if I could just transfer the name on the loan or if I had to get a whole new loan (would this be considered refinancing)?

Thanks for the help!
Matt

A new loan would be you buying the car from your grandfather. And you will only get used rates. Is the loan through Honda Finance? I've transferred a loan to my dad because he was taking over a car of mine. I had to stay on the loan, but he makes the payments and the bill goes to him. We did it that way so we could keep the low rate. I would call Honda Finance though and see what they say.
