A question, or two...

Default A question, or two...

You know the symbol on our aircraft that lets us, and others, recognize it as an American aircraft? It is a circle with a star in the middle and has a bar coming off the left and right side? Color patterns vary. Just wondering what this is called and where I could find a good picture of it.

I'm trying to find tattoo ideas and I want something patriotic, but not something that is overused. I don't recall ever seeing this tattooed on anyone. It's small and subtle, and that's what I want. Any help would be appreciated.

I did a google image search, but since I don't know what it is called, I just searched for pictures of aircraft that had it on them, but none of the pictures were sufficient enough for me to print out.

It is called a Roundel. It is the USAF plane symbol. This is the USAF Logo

Awesome. Thanks guys.

And Raptor, I searched for USAF symbols, emblems, and logos. Never did it cross my mind to try insignia.

Thanks again.

I knew what the logo was.

I know lots of folks who got the logo as a tattoo too, so I don't want that... though I do like the way it looks.

I'm considering the roundel. Just got to think about where. Middle upper back is the best place I can think of so far.
