Default >>>Quick computer help<<<

I recently modified my BHO or registry, now everytime it boots up, the comp wouldn't show any files or applications on the screen at all. The only way I'd get into the system is by logging off and logging back on, then everything would show up normally. Any ideas how to fix this booting problem? I'd restore the system, but I'd like to know if any of you can help first. TIA!

you need to de-modify what you changed.

a restore is the best idea.

sudo rm windowsxp

Restore is probably the best idea if you don't remember what you changed.

Get your Windows CD-ROM and put it in the drive. It should auto-boot, otherwise browse it and select "Setup" (I think). Otherwise you can just reboot with it in the drive.

Select repair windows.

And for the future: when messing with the registry, or other Windows system files, always make a backup of the file if possible, otherwise note what you did in a notepad file, so you can undo it later.
