Radar jammers and radio scanners: do they work?

You should check out the "Bearcat" by Uniden. It is pre-programmed with all of the police frequencies for each state (you just tell it where you live). The really nice feature of this scanner is that it can pick up on the signal given off by the "repeaters" in the police cruisers. It supposedly tells you if it "senses" one of those repeaters within an ? (forget) mile radius.
Alot of truckers came into the electronics store that I worked at looking for these (as radar detectors had been banned from commercial truckers - don't know how true that is BTW).
I never used one personally, but I didn't get a single one returned in the entire time I worked there (over a year, prob 20-30 units sold).
