Ok, I just received my Passport 8500 yesterday. I bought it over the Valentine simply because it was $100 less and seems to be just as good, just with no directional capability.

My question is about falsing. The damn thing goes off enough times in one night to make me wonder if I should send it back. I have 30 days to try it out. What is really a false alert? I live in Jersey and work in North Jersey, so there is a lot of buildings and a lot of traffic. So should I expect for the thing to false everyone once in a while going past stores and such? Does the Valentine? My other question is that I thought door sensors and the such were supposed to be on X band. Well, both times I have been parked right outside of stores, the K band is going nuts!! Thanks for the help.

Passports normally have a programmable level of sensitivity to X, K band. Take another look at your manual and see if you have the optimum setup for city.. I don

I went through the manual, and it is programmable. I'll go through it again, and see if I can get it to be a little less sensitive. I have had it a couple of times now go nuts, and I don't see a cop in sight. I guess it doesn't mean there wasn't one, but it is a little weird. We'll see, I'll keep ya informed on what happens.
