by Iris Chang.

Has anybody read this book? It's a graphic piece of writing. I personally did not know what the Rape of Nanking was until this book and now I have decided to write a research paper on this topic since I'm so intrigued. I'm in the process of analyzing the book as well as many other sources so if anyone wants to give me some pointers or some reactions or even some mind-provoking thoughts than whore away.

Cheers,

Bryan

It's a graphic novel.
It is not a novel, it is historic fact, backed up by thousands of pictures and documented accounts from both sides of the war. This rape of Nanking/Nanjing is still not ackowledged by the Japanese government.

Some things are best left in the past. I think this is one of them. The Japanese have been in denial on World War II forever. Nothing is going to change this.

That book is a piece of horror. It is NOT recommended reading for anyone

I disagree. Just because nothing is going to change does not mean it should be forgotten. Just like the Holocaust in Europe will be remembered forever, the Rape of Nanking should also be remembered -- if not by the Japanese, then by the people of the rest of the world.

There are other war atrocities and war crimes committed by the Japanese that they have now slowly admitted (sex slaves, for example). So maybe someday, they will teach their children about the horrible crimes committed against humanity by their Japanese forefathers.
