I don't have my wings yet, I just don't have the time, but it is definitely alot of fun.

My Dad has this Matt Chapman airplane http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/great...gpma1285_n.html

Hey Hondagal,
I just started learning not long ago. I'm just using a simple high wing electric trainer, but its worked well considering I'm learning on my own without someone helping me. The other day I did several loops for the first time & that was pretty exhilerating. The hardest part about flying (after learning the basics) seems to be the waiting between days where there isn't a 15+ mph breeze. Your dad's plane is pretty nice! Looks really rugged. I'm sure it has some serious vertical.

Here's manufacturer pics of my plane I'm learning on. The cool thing about it, is that when the wing is off, it fits into the S2K's trunk nicely.

I like gardening, long walks in the moonlight (naw I lie about this one) washing, polishing cars, gardening, fish ponds, Jack Russells... hehe, but I don't want to be married.

FWLBP.. looks like a great starter plane. There is a pretty big difference between electric and gas power, but I think this is a real good start as it will help you decide if you want to invest further money and time.

Oh the great planes flight simulator is a great tool when you can't fly due to wind.

this might be an interesting hobby for me. I live by Lake mead, so i can have my choice in a Boat, plane, or car. I'll have to do a bit of research before i decide which to get.

i spend way too much time at the casinos.

Two birds with one stone: Get a cub style plane with floats.

Both y'all's planes look nicer than mine. I ended up buying one of those ones made out of that indestructible corrugated plastic. Well, I ended up having to make it, so it wasn't an ARF. I wish I could find the link or the name for it. I'll see if I can dig it out of the shed.

Anyone in/near MD? I'd be interested in getting back in to flying sometime.

i have the same plane. it has the little sensor that recognizes grass and some dirt and it makes it almost impossible to crash. when you turn it off. you can do some pretty nice flying with it. the repairs are simple and cheap also

I'm new at it too after YEARS of flight simming. My first plane was/is:
bought at our very own sponsor:http://www.nitroplanes.com/arpmupr4rtfr.html

I've now learned how to order spare parts and make good use of gorilla tape and drywall screws. I even re-mounted a wing with a piece of metal coathanger. Like anything, fixing it is almost as much fun!

Didn't realize until today this forum exists. I bought an RC plane for my husband several years ago hoping it would become his hobby. He took it out to a big field and flew it a couple/times, it landed in a HUGE tree. For days we kept going back trying to figure out how to get it out of the tree. After a big storm we drove over to the big field and the plane had fallen low enough that we could get it. Now the plane sits in its box on his workbench (no damage) and he hasn't taken it out since. This forum makes me think perhaps that I'd enjoy flying it. Think I'll go read the book that came with it. This could be a good thing.
