Default Real Flight R/C Simulator Gen 2

I am interested in purchasing this program, and I wondered where the best place to get it from would be.

I assume this is not the type of software that one can buy secnd hand. I looked at some Canadian hobby shops, and they run around $300. Not to bad I suppose.

Anyone have this program? what are your thoughts?

I used Real Flight for numberous Helicopter maniveriours I was practicing... the Models need 'tweaking' to make them 110% realistic, but over-all its the best sim I've ever used...

Its NOT a game...

The best simulator I used was the CSM 3 in 1 flight simulator. When I was flying, this was the best sim on the market. I haven't kept up with current simulators, but from what I've heard it's still a damn good one. Take a look at it here: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/c...csm_ltd/sim.htm

I've had the CSM simulator... Its WAY dated... and has many compatibility issues.

The graphics frankly suck.

The flight dynamics are pretty good... But True flight blows it away now... You can customize the aircraft in TF to match the real dynamics much better.

The graphics in TF is stellar. And its a DirectX application, not a Dos-Pascal based application...

I had True Flight too. Yes the graphics were pretty, but in no way did it feel real. I traded someone for the CSM simulator and was truly happy. Yes, the graphics aren't the greatest in CSM's sim, but I'd take real flight characteristics over pretty graphics any day.

I know this is not a game.. I tackled learning with an instructor this past summer to fly RC airplanes. It is alot of fun, but I found my time to valueable and could not coordinate with an instructor to fly with me. I had hoped I could use the flight sim over the winter to learn more and keep what I have already learnt.

The airplane I currently have is called an Apache II trainer.

The Apache is a great plane, I would suggest Real Flight as well as a decent training program but it does have some limitations as stated above. Favorite plane of the bunch is the ugly stick, most fun you can have with a plane in my opinion.

Myself I have a whole bunch of foamies now, several cobolt powered zagis, and a harris DS moth.

With some tweaking, you CAN get TF to model the plane JUST like your model-- However, the 'defaults' are not realistic IMHO, so you will need to tweak your model(s).

If your looking for a highly-realistic 60sized Helicopter model, let me know and I'll see if I can dig it up.

But by-default, CSM has better flight modeling INITIALLY, until you tweak the TF models.
