A really cool true story.

Default A really cool true story.

Oxnard, CA, last week.

A 19 year old kid was wanting to get married but is poor, so he sells his pride and joy muscle car to afford a nice wedding for his girl. He finds an old motorcycle at a garage sale for $250. He takes it to a mechanic to see what it needs to get fixed up a little.

The mechanic calls him back later and says the bike isn't that great, but he'll take it off of his hands for $5000.

This kid is very innocent and says, "No I want to keep the bike and ride it. My grandfather had one like it." He ooes and gets the bike from the mechanic

Later some guy he doesn't know calls him and offers him $10000 for the bike. He says the same thing, but wonders what is up and calls his dad. His dad says something is up and to not sell it.

That evening he gets another call. The caller is Jay Leno. Jay asks him about the motorcycle and then after talking says, "You don't know what you have do you?" The kid says, "It's just an old Indian (brand) motorcycle." Jay tells him to go down to the bike and he'll stay on the line. He tells the kid to take out 2 screws and lift up the seat. Under the seat he sees a plaque that says, "From Elvis to Prisilla." The kids says, "Who's Elvis and Pricilla." Jay explains who it is and that it is a bike given from Elvis to Pricilla on their wedding and it was stolen a week later and is a legend. So Jay says, "I told you what you have, I'm being honest with you. I'll give you $750000 and pick it up tommorow. So last Sunday Jay came from Burbank and picked up the bike.

Interesting about the urban legend. I'll have to ask the guy who told me.

And besides that's much too old for an Elvis to Priscilla gift. Elvis may have had an Indian but that would have been in his pre famous days.

When I saw him in Memphis and in Dallas it was a big Harley. Pics I have of his car collection in 1957 only show a regular Harley.

If it was known to be stolen, wouldn't it then belong to the person it was stolen from (Presley estate, or whoever owned it)? Would the law side with the true owner?
