Really neat office experience at 12noon for America
My office is one that is typically very "quite"-- most people have cubs.
Today, exactly at 12noon, I played the following songs LOUDLY:
Star-Spandled Banner
Amazing Grace
God-Bless America
Everyone stopped typing, moving, talking etc. The "performance" (music) lasted 9minutes, 11 seconds.
Proud to be an American,
-- Aaron

Oddly enough, I went out to check the mail around noon and heard "God Bless America". I looked around the corner and a guy was stopped in front of our studio listening to it while he fiddling around with something in his car. I thought that was kind of strange.

I work for a remote office of Citigroup. We had a large contingent of Citibank and SSB employees who were in the WTC. Thankfully, most were able to escape.
As a remote office of about 100 people, we're normally not that group oriented. It's sad, but that's the way it is.
Today at noon, one of our business heads let everyone know that if they were interested we would conduct a few moments of silence at noon. To my great surprise, the overwhelming majority of our employees showed up.
It was moving.
As long as we as a country continue to pull together, I remain hopeful that we can find some good in this most horrible of times.
