Default Recent or current Dads, help!

My wife is into her 6th months of pregnancy. Although it's difficult for me to believe, but the doctors said that her tummy will get even bigger as the baby develops fast in the last trimester (it's already pretty large IMO). What can I do to alleviate her discomforts? Massage? Hot bath? Theraputic lotions? The Lamaze class didn't cover this and I'm getting a bit nervous...if the baby keeps growing, it'll be one large boy

She could give birth prematurely is what it sounds like.

Not much you can do except offer emotional support and be understanding during her mood swings.

Be prepared for the greatest moment of both of your lives the day your wife gives birth.

Unless you've gone through the experience before, I think it's hard to understand just how large she can get. I have a friend who looked like she was about the pop by 7 months. The size may be a bit deceiving (ie: it's unlikely that she'll run out of room for Jr.).

Have you checked out the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting"?

you need go pick up a copy of the book. Lots of emotional support, massages, and ICECREAM. Don't be surprised if you put on a few pounds.

My wife was due last Saturday -- waiting waiting waiting ...

It is amazing how large they can get. Overall I have been the luckiest guy ever. 30 lb gain for her, estimated 8.5lb kid. Zero issues, never cranky, no emotional bullshit, no sickness ... nothing. In fact she is still at work as I write this ...

She is a small woman, 110 normal weight. She did not really show for the first 4 months, and even then it was hard to tell until about the 8th -- then BAM.

Now if I can only get her to follow through on showing up after the kid is born with a six-pack in one hand and baby in the other.

-Steve (who will not be at the hospital and who still believes children come from storks).

Steve, congrats! Are the doctors going to induce?

Most likely. Our pediatrician is a good and old friend of mine; I keep pestering her to get this over with and she keeps telling me to stop rushing the natural process.

The nice thing about being induced, as selfish as this sounds, is that we can work it in around our busy schedule.

Steve, you're going to be in the delivery room w/ your wife for the big moment, right?
